Cat. #00146225: KIT GUARD

Rare vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature-- just the third example we have ever countered-- on a 4x6-inch tan album page, acquired in-person by an autograph hound named Ethel in the 1930s. In good condition, with gentle toning in spots. The over 400-credit film and television career character actor Kit Guard included a number of B-movie favorites, including some excellent serials, in which he played henchmen, gangsters, tough-talking sailors, hoods, pugs, and conmen. Among them were Dick Tracy (1937), The Invisible Man Returns (1940), The Lodger (1944), The Monster and the Ape (1945), Dick Tracy vs. Cueball (1946), Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man (1951), and Houdini (1953).
